The season of sunsets has begun!

This just might be our favorite time of year in Alaska.  March is blue skies, snow on the Chugach Range behind the house, and light until 9pm.  The brilliant sunsets are starting, and will continue to build and intensify throughout the summer.  By the summer solstice on June 21st, the sun will set far to the right of Sleeping Lady, seen here.  We are blessed to live here.

Now this is a nice welcome home :)

Got back to Alaska around 10pm from a week spent visiting friends and family in Wisconsin, and Lady Aurora decided to put on a nice show for my return.  These were shot between 11pm and midnight.  Quite a few clouds and a bright moon, but it was very strong for just a short burst.  The rest of Alaska got an incredible show last night where it was clear.  It's good to be home.
