The longest day of the year, 19h21min of daylight here in Anchorage, has turned into an absolutely gorgeous evening.
Alaska at its best tonight. A beautiful sky to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
My wife, Devany, grabbed this shot with her phone last night around 10:15pm while driving home from the airport. A really big, healthy looking lynx, casually strolling along the side of the road and squinting in the bright sun. I sure wish she had had my good camera! They're a rare sighting.
The Alaska Range at 12:20am. We're one week away from Solstice. It's hard to sleep when it's this gorgeous out--that and the fact that it doesn't get much darker than this all night, even here in Anchorage.
