Just another sublime sunset.
The view tonight. Calm before the storm?

Still no snow on the ground, but look at the rapid change in the snowshoe hares as the temperature has dropped. Just 12 days between these photos.
Boy, if there was snow on the ground, we'd need sunglasses.
An absolutely amazing auroral display last night. It started around 11:30pm Alaska time and just kept building and building. Most of these pictures were shot between 1am and 5am. I started out shooting at the house, then at 3am I jumped in the car and headed to Potter Marsh, then drove down Turnagain Arm to the Twenty Mile River and Portage Valley. What a fun night! Way too many pictures, but I just can't pick a few favorites. I hope you can view these on a big screen!
It's always fun to walk downstairs, look out the window next to the front door, and have Mama Moose staring back at you about 3 feet away :) She and her baby have been hanging around all summer and are looking good.
