The mountain is really out this afternoon, glowing in the setting sun. Tonight hoping for clear skies and strong aurora.
Mount Redoubt Volcano across the Turnagain Arm and Cook Inlet. She last erupted in March, 2009. Gorgeous mountain. Sunset at 4:40pm, not so great.
A really nice night of aurora after the Cubs clinched the World Series for the first time in generations. This display started early, around 9:15pm Alaska time and went all night. The most active display was around 1:30am, with some really nice spikes and a couple of coronas overhead.
We always wait until after November 1st to put the bird feeder back up, just in case the bears are still hanging around. 5 minutes after I put it up on the front deck, my little Nuthatch buddies were back.
