She brought us another treat.

She showed up again early this morning around 12:30 am and was very active until she started to fade around 3 am, which is when I gave up.  A hard aurora to shoot as it was really black compared to the full-moon aurora display from a couple of weeks ago.   Tight bands of intense color and brightness compared to the background.  I do have to admit it's kinda nice shooting the aurora when it's 35ยบ above!

Every show now is a gift.

It's getting late in the aurora viewing season.  We might have another month, but more and more daylight means the magic is coming to an end, so last night's blast was a treat--even with the full moon that wreaked havoc.  It started around 11 pm and then at 11:15 there was an intense blast of activity with pink bands that only lasted about 20 minutes or so.  Finally gave up at 1:30 am when the clouds moved in.
