Rainy weekend in Seward
First motorhome trip of the year down to Seward this past weekend. Wild and windy and rain most of the time, but it's always a fun visit and we got to see the first whale of the year in Resurrection Bay.

This snowshoe hare must not have read the memo that Spring has been delayed here in Bear Valley. It sure doesn't feel like Spring. We've had snow flurries the past couple of nights.
The stars at night, are big and bright.
Might have been the last Aurora shoot of this season. Drove up to Hatcher Pass late last night, but unfortunately not much Aurora activity at all. But...holy cow, the Milky Way was amazing!!!
I'm heading Outside for a couple of weeks, so by the time I get back it will be too light out at night for anymore Aurora.

Pretty in Pink. This season's best Aurora to date.
Wow, what a night. We were forecast to have pretty good Aurora, but when I checked at 10 pm, it was mostly cloudy over Bear Valley. I checked again at 11 pm and BAM! It had cleared up and there was the most intense display of the season. Incredibly vivid pinks, which are pretty rare this far south. What a treat as we rapidly head towards the end of the Aurora season. It's getting light out quickly. There was even a hint of daylight on the Western horizon at 11 pm. The really intense, fast-moving displays only lasted for a couple of minutes each. These were really fast moving. The whole show lasted just over an hour, and then the clouds moved back in.
