The light this afternoon looking across Turnagain Arm to the Kenai Peninsula was just fantastic.

The first time I’ve been able to shoot Aurora in Anchorage since the middle of September. We’ve been getting skunked by clouds while the folks in Fairbanks have had some great shows. Last night we finally had perfectly clear skies and a show that started at 9pm and went until 4am this morning, when I finally had to get some sleep. What a fun night!

The weather has been so warm that we decided to take a chance and head to Seward for one last weekend of this motorhome season. Rain on Saturday morning turned into a glorious afternoon with dramatic/contrasty light on the mountains across Resurrection Bay. Fun day to shoot. Saturday night was strong winds and rain. Sunday it started to snow heavily as we drove home over Turnagain Pass. Timing is everything. Home safe and sound and spent the rest of the day winterizing the motorhome.
