Backyard visitor.
Northern Goshawk—probably a juvenile—in the falling snow this afternoon. No doubt looking for snowshoe hares.
A bit of a show early this morning.
Aurora showed up around 12:30am with a nice hint of pink at the bottom of the display. Was hoping it might turn into a big display, but it never climbed much above the horizon, and was pretty much done by 1:30am. Fun shooting on a night with a bright half-moon.
The Sun--and my bird buddies are back.
Big day here in Bear Valley. It’s the first time since October that the sun has climbed high enough over the Chugach Mountains behind the house so that sunlight directly hits the house.
And my Gray Jay buddies are back. Haven’t seen much of them at all this winter.
