Haven’t seen any yet here in Anchorage, so I’ll just have to be satisfied with a beautiful full moon tonight.

This is what we like to wake up to on a Saturday morning. First fresh snow of the year and Denali in all her glory on the horizon. Gonna be a good day.

Mom and baby Moose hanging out next to the house again early this evening. Baby moose is especially curious when I stand on the deck and talk to her. They know they’re safe here. Now they’re lying down in the backyard.

Moose rutting season is still going full blast, and while I was off on a trip last weekend, Devany got these shots of this big bull just would not give up on this cow with a calf that’s too young for her to send it on its way so she could get pregnant again. This poor bull hung around the yard for two days trying his best, but Mama Moose didn’t want anything to do with him. Imagine some cheesy soap-opera music as you scroll through the pictures. The captions tell the sordid story :)
