Moon setting, 9am.
At this time of the year, we’ll take all the light we can get. The moon setting behind Anchorage this morning at 9am. Only 10 days until Winter Solstice!

We decided to spend my birthday in Vancouver. I’ve only stopped at the airport in the past, so it was a nice exploration of a new place. Devany spent time here back in the early 90’s and couldn’t believe how much it’s grown, in particular the North Vancouver area. We are both Alaska and Northwest Coast Native art fans, and Vancouver was everything we hoped, especially the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. We were blown away by their collection of Native Art and Totems.
An absolutely gorgeous sunset this afternoon bathing the Chugach Mountains in Alpenglow. We’re a month from the Winter Solstice so the days are getting much shorter.
The snow-level on Sleeping Lady across the Cook Inlet from Anchorage. She should be completely encased in snow by this time of year. We still don’t have any snow on the ground here in Bear Valley. Cross-country skis are sulking in the garage.

What a beautiful end to the day. We’ve had a long streak of getting to see the mountain.
