The injured Steller’s Jay we’ve been feeding was back for another visit this afternoon. She’s looking just fine. Just maybe the peanuts will get her through the winter. A beautiful bit of color in the middle of winter.

It hasn’t been a great winter so far for aurora viewing here in Anchorage—in fact last night was the first I’ve seen. It started around 11pm and I gave up at 1am. She never climbed very high above the horizon, but I’m sure the folks up in Fairbanks and further north had a great show. At least we got to see her again.
