Our injured Steller’s Jay was back for breakfast this morning. She looks like she’s making it through the winter just fine on her injured leg.

Magnificent Magpies.
I am always amazed at the color on these magpies when they look so black & white at any distance. Up close they are beautiful.

Bald Eagle on the front deck!
I looked out the living room window this morning shortly after I had put out the Magpie’s breakfast peanuts and saw this guy sitting on our front deck railing calmly watching the goings-on. It was here for more than 20 minutes. Pretty amazing. I took a bunch of pictures through the triple-pane windows and then slowly opened the front door. He let me take one shot and then off he went.
