Iditarod 2020 Ceremonial Start. The Last Great Race!

It’s time for Iditarod! The ceremonial start was held in Anchorage this morning, and for a change we had plenty of snow and perfect temps. We decided to skip the huge crowds at the start line on 4th Ave., and instead hung out along Chester Creek and at the infamous Cordova Hill. Lots of fun for everyone. As usual, way too many pictures.

A little bit of aurora early this morning.

Saw a bit of color at 1:30am. It’s been a terrible winter so far for seeing any aurora here in Anchorage, in fact I’ve only seen it 3 times, so we take what we can get. It clouded up pretty quickly, so didn’t get anything very exciting, but even a little is magical.
