I woke up at 3:30am and saw the crescent moon setting behind Anchorage. There had been a forecast for possible good aurora, so I stayed up and waited to see what might happen. A fairly wide band around 4:15am, but she just never got any stronger here in Anchorage. The Milky Way was very noticeable. It’s always fun to be out shooting the night sky.
We had a gorgeous Canada Lynx in the side yard late this afternoon, the first one we’ve seen this Spring. She was really curious and hung out for almost a half-hour, which was amazing. And then she decided she wanted a closer look. Every once in a while you just get lucky.
A sign of Spring. The snow ever so gently sliding off the metal roof of the woodshed.
Our resident snowshoe hare hasn’t started changing colors yet. Still way too much snow on the ground.
