Last motorhome trip of the year to Seward, AK.

We decided to try and get one more long weekend in before we had to winterize the motorhome, so we headed down to Seward for a couple of what turned out to be, gorgeous days filled with dramatic light and clouds, fresh snow on the mountains and fall colors still blanketing the hillsides. We love Seward in the off-season when it’s quiet. Sadly, we didn’t see any whales in Resurrection Bay on this trip. Come along.

A bonus trip to Denali National Park.

The weather has been so warm, and the forecast was looking great, so we jumped in the motorhome for a very late season trip to Denali. It’s unheard of for us to be able to go up this late in the year, but blame it on climate change, or just abnormally warm weather this year, we were able to have another 5 full days in Denali where there was absolutely no snow on the ground yet, the Park Road was open all the way out to Teklanika rest stop and it barely got below 32ºf at night.

We took full advantage of the incredible weather. Denali was out on the drive up, the park was gorgeous and we also were there during the height of the moose rutting season—oh yeah, we got right in the middle of a rutting scrum one night.

This trip brought us to 25 days in the park this summer, which is a new record for us. So come along for another ride to our favorite place on earth. Captions below the photos tell the story.
