The cloud deck lifted to give us a gorgeous view of Mt. Hunter and the summit of Denali late this afternoon.

Magpie in the falling snow this morning. I always get a kick out of how colorful they are up close. In flight they just look black and white.

A cargo flight climbing out from Anchorage International Airport passes in front of Denali. Pretty impressive lenticular cloud over the summit.

Mount Foraker with Fata Morgana.
Really strong atmospheric distortion this morning. The Fata Morgana phenomenon making Foraker look more like a mesa in Arizona than its normal shape and size. I just had spinal surgery on Jan. 3rd, so won’t be taking a whole lot of pictures for the next couple of months.
