Plumping up for hibernation.
This guy seems to be doing just fine in the food department as we slowly head into hibernation season. Yesterday in the front yard.

A very soggy, foggy day here in Seward. Sasquatch vibe.
Just back from our annual fall trip up to Denali and this one was one for the ages. We hit peak fall color in the park and for the very first time in all of our visits, we saw a wolverine in the park. We had everthing from sunny blue skies to sleet and howling winds and rain while we were mountain biking the park road. It’s hard to describe how intense the color was in the park, so as usual, I’m posting way too many pictures of this incredible landscape. The captions will tell the story. Come along for the ride.
After 24 straight days of rain, the sky finally cleared up for a while and we got to see our first aurora of the season from here in Bear Valley. I shot these between 1-2am. Not a great show, but it was still wonderful to see her again. Maybe we’ll get a strong year. click on images for full-screen.
We haven’t seen a Steller’s Jay up here at the house for well over a year, so it was great to have this one come by for breakfast on another rainy day in Bear Valley.
