Easter Sunday visitors.

It’s been a busy morning. The Easter porcupine and moose came by for another visit. Yep, it’s still snowing!

A nice surprise leaving Seward.

Leaving Seward today and as we passed the airport our dog, Nika, barked at something out in the field at the end of the runway. It was a coyote! We don’t get to see them that often, so I just managed to grab a couple of shots after we pulled off the highway. Click on images for full-screen

Wonderful visitors this morning.

It’s always great to have Devany shout from her office downstairs “There’s a lynx in the backyard”! I grabbed the camera and managed a couple of shots of it next to the house and in the trees below us. When I turned around I realized there was another, bigger, lynx sitting at the top of our driveway. The smaller (I’m guessing a female) joined it and they headed up our neighbors drive. They are such a rare treat to see.

Young Moose.

Had a yearling bull moose come visit this morning. He’s still got a ways to go before it gets easier to get at food because there’s so much snow on the ground up here. That’s the edge of our driveway behind him, so it’s going to be a while before it melts.
