Hazy on the Western horizon tonight.
It must be blowing quite hard out to the West as the sun sets tonight. Lots of haze and sea fog off of Cook Inlet. The light is all soft edges and gentle tones, but the colors are still pure drama.
This is the perfect ending to a gorgeous weekend.
Temperatures in the mid-70s all weekend, blue skies, spectacular sunsets at 10:30pm. Alaska was really showing off this weekend. Doesn't get much better.
Mother's Day Aurora!
One of the best displays we've had in Anchorage all season! It's been a frustrating aurora season here; it seemed like we kept getting skunked by clouds every time there was a strong display. Not early this morning! These were all shot between 2 and 3:30am Alaska time. Yes, there was still light in the sky, and the sunrise kept getting brighter rapidly. The colors were wonderful. Happy Mother's Day to all.

Young bull moose that's been hanging out all morning, looking very forlorn. Mom must have kicked him out this spring so she can have some new babies.
